All volunteers and employees must be of good character and reputation, in addition to genuinely concerned for the interests of the children we serve. Each must be able to provide at least three personal references. 

All volunteers and employees must complete an agency application. Below are more details.

Volunteers

• Short Term, or Day, Volunteers will be monitored closely, especially in respect to their interaction with the children.
• Short-term professionals or repeat volunteers may, under certain circumstances, waive the interview process.
• Volunteers may be assigned a variety of duties, including: 

                          1. Administration  

                                  Help with Fundraising, Recruiting and Consulting  

                                  Board Participation   

                         2. Support (Clerical) Services  

                                 Answer Phones, Type and File  

                                 Distribute Bulk Mail   

                                 Update the Home   

                         3. Social Work-Related Activities  

                                Take Children to Appointments 

                                Supervise Visits  

                                Tutor, Serve as a “Big Brother” or “Big Sister” 

                                Assist During Levels Special Events  

                                Provide Training in Skill Development, Religious Programs, etc. 

Long Term Professional 

• Long Term Volunteers and Professional Applicants must submit the following for approval by the Board of Directors and Levels Director.

                          1. Letter of application to Board of Directors 

                         2. Resume and all certificates documenting qualifications 

• Long-term professional volunteers may, under no circumstances, waive the interview process. 
• A staff person, who, upon observation or examination or as a result of tests, shows indication of a physical, emotional, or mental condition that could be detrimental to the children or staff, or which would prevent satisfactory performance of duties, shall not continue work at the center until the staff person provides a written statement from a licensed practicing medical doctor indicating that the staff person is able to return to work.
